If your database not only contains phone numbers but names or other data (e.g., second name, age, city etc.), you can use those parameters to personalize SMS messages.

This functionality improves shipping efficiency because recipient feels like message has been selected directly for him.

To apply SMS personalization, you should use appropriate parameters in sms content. Parameters are used to gather proper values from database that will be automatically inserted to SMS content.

As in an example below, you can use among the others such parameters as: [%first_name%] and [%last_name%].

But that is not everything. There may be situation when in imported database not all names will be starting with capital letter. By using [%first_name:capital%], system will automatically care to ensure that every name has valid record. In practice name "michael" will be replaced with "Michael". Additional parameters options are explained in the panel.
